We have chosen to work in Loftus due to it’s obvious geographical barrier that can often prevent children and young people accessing high quality and varied sports and activity provisions. With 3 primary schools in the town, there is ample opportunities to ensure that sport and physical activity becomes habitual among the pupils giving them the best chance of life long participation. The town boasts a local cricket and football club, the venue of which has been upgraded significantly by Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation funding to create a floodlit multi use games area. Loftus Taekwondo Club has an excellent reputation for engaging the local children and young people, with regular trips around the UK and even abroad for those that are interested. The local leisure centre hosts Loftus Dolphins, a swimming club that promotes competitive swimming for children from 6 and above.
